John's rates are even lower than they sound, because he charges to the minute instead of rounding up to the hour.

Copywriting

Creating the words for your ad, website, family newsletter, or Mission Accomplished banner.

Editing

Fixing grammar, sharpening language, correcting your to's and too's and two's.

$50 per hour

within estimate,

$30 per hour

for time worked over my estimate.

How hourly billing works:

I give you an estimate.

"It'll take me 2 hours."

We sign an agreement.
You pay 50% of the estimate (PayPal).

If it only takes me 1 hour and 14 minutes, I charge you for 1 hour and 14 minutes,
not 2 hours,
& not 1 hour and 15 minutes.

If it takes 2 hours and 27 minutes,
I'm 27 minutes over estimate.
So, I round back to the 15 minute mark, and charge $7.50 per extra 15 minutes. You'd pay for 2 hours at $50, and an additional $7.50
for the extra fifteen minutes.

(Moral of the story: I try not to screw up my estimates.)
