John Wrote It: About John

I won the inaugural Norman Mailer College Nonfiction Writing Award, an honor that includes a $10,000 cash prize and a summer 2010 fellowship at the Norman Mailer Writers Colony in Provincetown, Massachusetts. I teach academic writing at Utah State University, where I hold the 2010-11 Dan C. Manon Caine Russel Fellowship in English as a graduate student. I was on staff with the Utah State University Watershed Science Department as an editor, but had to put that aside with the launch of a new book collaborative of which I'm Managing Editor, the Tottenville Review.

I read, write, line-edit, and revise thousands of words daily. In everything I write, business or pleasure, I attempt to affect the audience while conveying the facts memorably.

An essay of mine titled "Final Cascade" will appear in the summer 2010 issue of Creative Nonfiction.

Clients appreciate my broad interest in and understanding of the sciences, arts, business, and politics. I'm easy to get a hold of. Clients communicate with me via email, phone, or text message.

I'm confident, honest, and direct, and I have the requisite writer's cat.
